Production Leader
Cuyahoga Falls, OH
$24.52/hr.
As a Production Leader, you will manage the daily operations of manufacturing to guarantee adherence to production timelines, quality benchmarks, and safety regulations. This role requires active leadership, as you will coordinate production processes, mentor and train team members, oversee inventory levels, and ensure a smooth workflow on the production floor. The Production Leader acts as a vital support for team members, fostering productivity while maintaining compliance with company protocols.
Key Responsibilities of the Production Leader:
- Direct daily production operations to achieve schedules and operational objectives.
- Communicate production priorities effectively and collaborate with support teams and line staff.
- Ensure the availability of materials and inventory for current and future production requirements.
- Assess staffing requirements and distribute resources efficiently to enhance productivity.
- Facilitate onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training for both full-time and temporary employees.
- Guide team members on performance expectations and relay production issues to supervisors.
- Implement and uphold company safety regulations to promote a secure working environment.
- Oversee SAP inventory transactions to ensure correct material usage and returns.
- Maintain organized and sanitary production lines, equipment, and controlled work areas.
- Manage machine changeovers and assist with basic setup and troubleshooting of production apparatus, including coding and labeling equipment.
- Ensure that production materials are adequately stocked for efficient daily operations.
- Assist with product rework and reconditioning efforts as necessary.
- Work in collaboration with other Production Leaders, Supervisors, and interdisciplinary teams to meet departmental objectives.
Qualifications for the Production Leader:
- High school diploma or GED with 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing lead or supervisory role, or an Associate’s/Technical degree combined with 2–3 years in manufacturing.
- Prior experience in manufacturing leadership or as a lead.
- Experience in training production staff.
- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory management and material transactions is a plus.
- Experience in managing machine changeovers and basic troubleshooting of equipment is beneficial.
- Competence in operating measurement tools, calculators, and computer systems.
