Production Supervisor Kansas City, KS
Salary: $85,000 – $90,000

Position Overview:
The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing shift operations, guiding hourly team members, and ensuring optimal performance across various metrics, including safety, quality, delivery, cost efficiency, productivity, and employee morale. This position is vital for meeting plant goals by upholding operational standards, nurturing talent, and aiding in ongoing improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage shift operations to guarantee that all tasks are executed safely, effectively, and in line with plant objectives.
  • Oversee and confirm the completion of mandatory safety training, monthly safety programs, and follow-up actions for incidents.
  • Foster a robust safety culture by mentoring team members in safe working practices and ensuring adherence to operational protocols.
  • Convey customer requirements and ensure production timelines are aligned with delivery commitments and quality standards.
  • Address quality concerns, perform root cause analyses, and collaborate with operators to establish effective corrective measures.
  • Champion Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and continuous enhancement initiatives, including Autonomous Maintenance and Focused Improvement activities.
  • Guide, coach, and mentor hourly employees by setting clear performance expectations and providing feedback, documentation, and training plans.
  • Contribute to cost-saving strategies, enhance productivity, and eliminate waste through standardized practices and resource management.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution, or military environments.
  • Proven experience in leading teams, making impactful decisions, and cultivating talent in dynamic settings.
  • Experience in employee and labor relations is preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strongly preferred: experience with Lean practices, TPM, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication abilities, a proactive change-oriented mindset, and a strong commitment to safety.
