Job description
Job Summary
The Radiation Therapist in the field of Medical Oncology is responsible for providing radiation therapy treatment to patients diagnosed with various forms of cancer. This role includes working closely with oncologists and other medical professionals to ensure the safe and effective delivery of treatment plans while also offering support to patients throughout their therapy journey.
Responsibilities
- Administer radiation treatments to patients according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with the oncology team to design and implement treatment plans.
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions, tracking their progress and addressing any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of treatment and patient responses.
- Ensure the operation and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment.
- Educate patients and their families about the treatment process and post-treatment care.
Qualifications
- Degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field from an accredited program.
- Certification and licensure as required by state regulations.
- Strong knowledge of radiation oncology principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively.
