Job Summary
The Radiographer plays a crucial role in the healthcare sector by employing imaging techniques to assist in diagnosing and treating patients. Utilizing advanced imaging equipment, the Radiographer ensures high-quality images are produced while prioritizing patient safety and care. This position requires a blend of technical skill and interpersonal communication to effectively support patients and collaborate with medical teams.
Responsibilities
- Operate imaging equipment such as X-rays, MRI, and CT scanners to capture diagnostic images.
- Ensure safety protocols are adhered to, minimizing radiation exposure to patients.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the processes and addressing any concerns to alleviate anxiety.
- Maintain equipment functionality through regular checks and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Document and store images accurately for reporting and future reference.
- Work in tandem with physicians to discuss imaging results and assist in developing treatment plans.
Qualifications
- A degree or certification in Radiography or a closely related field is required.
- Licensure or certification from a recognized board, such as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Strong understanding of imaging techniques and patient care principles.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and medical staff.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment, demonstrating reliability and professionalism.
