Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist – OR plays a crucial role in the operating room by assisting surgical teams during procedures. Located in Manhattan, Kansas, this position is onsite at Manhattan Surgical Hospital. The primary responsibilities include preparing the operating area, handling instruments, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols to promote the wellbeing of patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgical teams during operations, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Sterilize and organize surgical instruments to prevent infection and other complications.
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to established protocols and standards.
- Engage in effective communication with the surgical team regarding patient conditions and needs.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program.
- Experience in an operating room environment is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and make quick decisions in a surgical setting.
- Understanding of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
