Job description
Job Summary
The Radiology Scheduler plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within the radiology department by facilitating the scheduling of diagnostic imaging appointments. This role involves interacting with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize appointment availability and improve patient flow.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate scheduling of radiology appointments for patients while ensuring the timely delivery of services.
- Act as a liaison between patients and medical staff to address scheduling inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of scheduling details and patient information.
- Utilize scheduling software to manage appointments efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in scheduling practices.
- Assist in verifying patients’ insurance coverage as needed.
- Manage cancellations and rescheduling as per patient needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare or customer service preferred.
- Previous experience in medical scheduling or healthcare administration is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interactions with patients and staff.
- Proficient in using scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
