Job Summary
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for delivering comprehensive care to patients presenting with a variety of urgent medical conditions. This position necessitates a high level of clinical skill and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The RN will collaborate with healthcare professionals, conduct assessments, and implement appropriate interventions to improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the emergency setting, ensuring timely assessment and treatment.
- Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient conditions promptly.
- Assist with emergency procedures and interventions as required.
- Document patient interactions and care accurately in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment in accordance with hospital policies and regulations.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
- Previous experience in an emergency department or critical care setting is preferred.
- Crisis management and critical thinking skills are essential.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and the healthcare team.
