Job description
Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing workplace safety standards. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of safety and health programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The coordinator will work closely with management and staff to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement safety protocols and risk management programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Provide training and support to employees regarding safety procedures and compliance.
- Monitor safety regulations and stay updated on changes in legislation.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, preparing reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Create and distribute safety-related documentation, including policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a safety coordination or related role.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar credentials are preferred.
