Job Summary
The role of the School Based Therapist involves providing mental health support and therapeutic services to students within an educational setting. This part-time position is structured to accommodate a school calendar, functioning over a 10-month period to align with academic schedules.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions to students, tailored to their emotional and educational needs.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and other mental health professionals to develop comprehensive support plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and progress notes in compliance with school and legal standards.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting therapeutic interventions as necessary.
- Provide crisis management and intervention services as situations arise.
- Participate in school meetings and training to foster a supportive environment for student mental health.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Valid licensure or certification to practice as a therapist.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a clinical or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Keen understanding of mental health issues and therapeutic modalities appropriate for a school environment.
