Job Summary

The Senior Retirement Specialist in Evansville, IN, with a salary range of $70,000-$85,000, is responsible for driving sales, providing comprehensive education, and delivering exceptional service to plan participants in 457 retirement programs. This role emphasizes the development, management, and retention of relationships with participants through regular educational interactions, while also identifying prospects for acquiring new small cases.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and facilitates individual and group seminars for both potential and current participants within a designated territory.
  • Assists the Program Director in strategic territory planning and team development initiatives.
  • Acts as a financial advisor, offering guidance on the benefits and features of defined contribution retirement savings plans to drive sales growth.
  • Builds and nurtures relationships with key contacts, particularly at the departmental head level, to enhance product and service offerings within the plan.
  • Supports the Program Director by training on new presentations, product details, and updates on policy or procedural changes.
  • Leads a team of Retirement Specialists, serving as the primary contact for inquiries and troubleshooting
  • Manages special projects focused on marketing, customer service, enrollment, and other administrative aspects of the deferred compensation program.
  • Collaborates with dedicated or regional home office teams to resolve customer issues and improve field processes.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as insurance, business, or marketing is preferred.
  • Possession of FINRA Series 6 or 7 licenses, and a combination of Series 63, 65, or 66, along with life and health licenses; Series 63 and 65 may be required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in financial, sales, or educational services.
  • Strong understanding of the public sector business and 457 plans, alongside additional financial products and services.
  • Proficient in navigating political and economic environments to achieve business goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of annuity and investment products, with the capability to effectively convey product information.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Retirement Plans to support the Program Director in planning and sales roles.
  • Exceptional sales, communication, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to manage a client territory effectively.
