Senior Retirement Specialist
Location: Evansville, IN
Salary: $70,000 – $85,000
The role of **Senior Retirement Specialist** involves driving sales, providing education, and delivering exceptional service for participants enrolled in 457 retirement plans. You will be responsible for cultivating, managing, and nurturing relationships with participants, ensuring they receive regular education and planning support for their retirement needs. Additionally, your role will include identifying potential prospects and acquiring new small accounts.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Retirement Specialist:
- Organize and lead both individual and group seminars for current and prospective participants within a designated territory.
- Support the Program Director in strategic territory planning, execution initiatives, and team development activities.
- Act as a financial consultant to existing and potential participants, offering insights into the features and benefits of defined contribution retirement savings plans to promote sales growth.
- Establish and strengthen relationships with important contacts, particularly at the departmental head level, to enhance product offerings and services within the retirement plan.
- Assist the Program Director with training on new presentations, updates on product information, changes in policies or processes, and other related matters.
- Serve as a team lead for a group of Retirement Specialists, acting as the primary point of contact for inquiries and troubleshooting assistance.
- Manage special projects related to marketing, customer service, enrollment, and other administrative aspects of the deferred compensation program.
- Collaborate with dedicated or regional home office teams to address customer concerns or to enhance processes for field operations.
Qualifications for the Senior Retirement Specialist:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as finance, business, or marketing is desirable.
- Possession of a FINRA Series 6 or 7 license, along with a combination of Series 63, 65, or 66; life and health licenses are also required, with Series 63 and 65 likely needed.
- At least three years of relevant experience in financial services, sales, or educational service roles.
- In-depth knowledge of public sector operations, particularly regarding 457 plans and complementary financial products/services.
- The ability to adeptly navigate the political and economic landscape to achieve successful business outcomes.
- Extensive understanding of annuity and investment products with the skill to communicate product details effectively.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Retirement Plans is essential to adequately support the Program Director in both administrative and sales functions.
- Exceptional sales, communication, and presentation abilities are required. Proven capability to manage a client territory effectively.
