Job Summary
The Senior Retirement Specialist is responsible for driving sales, educating participants, and delivering services related to 457 retirement programs. This role necessitates the cultivation, management, and maintenance of relationships with plan participants, coupled with regular interactions focused on retirement education and planning. Additionally, you will be tasked with identifying prospects and securing new small clients.
Responsibilities
- Organize and lead individual and group seminars for both current and prospective participants within a designated region.
- Assist the Program Director in strategic territory planning, execution initiatives, and team development activities.
- Provide counseling and guidance to participants regarding the features and advantages of defined contribution retirement savings plans, contributing to sales growth.
- Establish and nurture relationships with key contacts at the department head level to promote the expansion of products and services.
- Support the Program Director by training team members on new presentation content, product details, and policy updates.
- Act as a leader for a team of Retirement Specialists and serve as a central point for inquiries and issue resolution.
- Lead special initiatives related to marketing, customer service, enrollment, and administrative duties of the deferred compensation program.
- Collaborate with local or regional home office teams to address customer concerns and enhance process improvements.
Qualifications
- A degree in a relevant field such as insurance, business, or marketing is preferred.
- Possession of a FINRA Series 6 or 7 license and a combination of series 63, 65, or 66, along with life and health licenses; series 63 and 65 may be mandatory.
- At least three years of experience in financial, sales, or educational service roles.
- Strong background in public sector business with knowledge of 457 plans and related financial products/services.
- Ability to effectively navigate political and economic contexts to attain business objectives.
- In-depth understanding of annuity and investment products with skills to communicate product details effectively.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Retirement Plans, essential for supporting the Program Director in administrative and sales functions.
- Outstanding sales, communication, and presentation abilities with proven success in managing a client territory.
