Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician plays a vital role in healthcare by ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use. This position is essential for maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and infection control in medical facilities.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect surgical instruments and equipment for cleanliness and functionality.
- Execute proper cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilization procedures for all reusable medical devices.
- Adhere to strict protocols for instrument tracking and management.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment usage.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to fulfill their requirements efficiently.
- Recommend improvements to processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in sterile processing preferred.
- Familiarity with sterilization techniques and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
