Job Summary
The Transplant Med-Surg/Tele/SDU position is a critical role within the healthcare team that focuses on providing specialized care for patients undergoing transplant procedures. This position plays a vital role in ensuring patient safety and quality care during the perioperative and post-operative phases. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in surgical and telehealth nursing practices, possessing the ability to adapt to the unique challenges associated with transplant patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the transplant unit.
- Monitor vital signs and patient conditions to ensure effective recovery and response to treatments.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the medical team.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families regarding care plans, procedures, and post-operative expectations.
- Assist in the management of complex patient cases and develop individualized care plans.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required.
- Previous experience in a surgical, telemedicine, or transplant nursing environment preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandated; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may also be required.
