Job Summary
The Trauma Nurse is an essential member of the healthcare team, responsible for delivering critical care to patients experiencing traumatic injuries. This role involves immediate assessment, intervention, and management of patients in emergency and trauma settings, ensuring their medical needs are addressed swiftly and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor the condition of trauma patients upon arrival.
- Provide emergency treatment and care in response to traumatic injuries.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient information and maintain accurate medical records.
- Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding trauma recovery.
- Utilize advanced medical equipment and technology in patient treatment.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain expertise in trauma care.
Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state of practice.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) preferred.
- Experience in emergency care or trauma nursing.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in high-stress situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
