Job Summary
The Urgent Care Veterinarian plays a pivotal role in delivering immediate and emergency medical care to animals requiring urgent attention. This position entails handling a variety of cases, providing high-quality veterinary care, and ensuring a compassionate approach to both pets and their owners.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough examinations and diagnostics on patients presenting with urgent health issues.
- Administer appropriate treatments and interventions, including surgery if necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patients.
- Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding their animal’s condition, treatment options, and care plans.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of veterinary professionals.
- Participate in continued education and training to stay updated with the latest practices in veterinary medicine.
Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited institution.
- State veterinary license in good standing.
- Previous experience in emergency or urgent care veterinary practice is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Commitment to providing empathetic care to patients and clients.
