Job Summary
The Vascular Step Down position involves providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from vascular surgery or procedures. The role is vital in monitoring patient progress and ensuring the implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality post-operative care to vascular surgery patients.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ health status.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous therapies as prescribed.
- Continuously monitor vital signs and report any changes to the medical team.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive patient recovery.
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
Qualifications
- Current nursing license and relevant certifications in vascular care.
- Proven experience in a step-down or telemetry unit.
- Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
