Job Summary
The Vascular Step Down RN plays a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from vascular surgery or procedures. This position is primarily focused on monitoring patients in a step-down unit, ensuring safety, providing support, and facilitating a seamless transition to recovery.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and maintain patient care plans as per the physician’s orders.
- Monitor patient vitals, status, and respond effectively to changes in condition.
- Educate patients and their families about post-surgical care, lifestyle changes, and recovery processes.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Document all care activities, patient interactions, and outcomes accurately in medical records.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in vascular nursing or surgical step-down unit preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and team members.
