Job Summary
The X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, specifically X-ray examinations, to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. This role requires not only technical expertise in operating imaging equipment but also strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct X-ray imaging examinations on patients according to prescribed protocols and safety standards.
- Ensure accurate positioning of patients for optimal image capture.
- Maintain and operate imaging equipment, performing routine checks to ensure functionality.
- Adhere to protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Document patient information and imaging results in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in the delivery of patient care, providing support and reassurance during procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and results.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Current certification and registration as an X-Ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist.
- Proficiency in operating X-ray equipment and understanding of imaging techniques.
- Knowledge of radiation safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
