Job Summary
The Surgical Technician plays a vital role in the healthcare team by providing essential support during surgical procedures. This position involves assisting surgeons and other medical personnel by ensuring that the operating room is well-equipped, sterile, and organized, thereby contributing to the efficiency and safety of surgical operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures.
- Gather and prepare surgical instruments and supplies required for operations.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by providing necessary tools and materials.
- Handle and dispose of surgical waste in compliance with health regulations.
- Monitor patient’s condition and assist with the application of dressings and splints post-surgery.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Surgical Technology program or equivalent certification.
- Understanding of surgical instruments and sterilization techniques.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a surgical team.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with medical staff and patients.
