Job Summary
The Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in supporting patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the field of interventional radiology. This position requires a blend of clinical skills, patient care expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. The RN ensures patient safety, comfort, and education throughout their interventional procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Administer medications and sedation as necessary, adhering strictly to protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families regarding procedures, expected outcomes, and post-care instructions.
- Document patient assessments and responses accurately in medical records.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the respective state.
- Prior experience in a critical care or interventional radiology setting is preferred.
- Strong assessment skills and the ability to react swiftly in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are typically required.
