Job Summary
The Laboratory Health and Safety Lead/Environmental Chemist position at ICF offers an opportunity to apply your analytical abilities in contributing to environmental protection initiatives. This role supports the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) within the newly established Region 9 Laboratory located in Corvallis, where your work will be vital in promoting laboratory safety and environmental health standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and enhance the laboratory’s health and safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct analyses of environmental samples to assess compliance with environmental policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve laboratory operations and optimize analytical procedures.
- Provide training and guidance on safety practices and environmental regulations to laboratory personnel.
- Develop and implement strategies for effective risk management in laboratory environments.
Qualifications
- A degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience in laboratory safety management or environmental analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to environmental issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
