Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Neurosurgery team at UPMC Presbyterian, specifically in the 8D unit. This role involves delivering exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment, focusing on neurological health. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing neurosurgical procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment processes and post-operative care.
- Monitor patient progress, documenting changes and reporting relevant information.
- Participate in unit activities aimed at quality improvement and patient safety.
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in a surgical or neurosurgical nursing role is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
