Job Summary
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the management of the general ledger, ensuring the successful completion of month-end and year-end close processes, and upholding accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP. This role also includes the establishment and maintenance of internal controls, the supervision of finance personnel, and the coordination of audits and grant reporting efforts.
Responsibilities
- Oversee general ledger management and financial closing processes.
- Ensure financial reports are generated accurately and comply with GAAP standards.
- Maintain and enforce internal financial controls.
- Supervise and support finance staff in their tasks.
- Coordinate and facilitate audit processes and grant reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting.
- Strong expertise in QuickBooks is essential.
- Knowledge of accounting practices specific to nonprofit organizations or charter schools is highly preferred.
