Triage patient calls and messages, assess preoperative readiness and urgent concerns, and coordinate testing, surgery scheduling, postoperative follow-up, and care with other specialties. Educate patients and families, document assessments and care plans in the electronic health record, and monitor results to ensure timely provider review and follow-up. An active Iowa Registered Nurse license and an Associate Degree in Nursing are required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred. All levels of RN experience are considered, and prior surgery or specialty-care experience is a plus but not required.
