**Inspector General**
The Inspector General is responsible for conducting comprehensive investigations and assessments of the NYPD’s operations, policies, and practices with the aim of improving effectiveness and ensuring public safety. This role involves overseeing a diverse team comprising investigators, attorneys, and analysts, while also acting as a representative of the agency in dealings with law enforcement and community partners. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years of relevant experience in areas such as investigations, law enforcement, or management. Additionally, candidates must possess at least 18 months of experience in a supervisory or executive role, along with the endorsement of the Commissioner of Investigation.
