Job Summary
The Vascular Step Down RN plays a crucial role in providing post-operative care for patients who have undergone vascular procedures. This position requires specialized nursing skills to monitor patients’ recovery, manage their comfort, and ensure their safety as they transition from high-acuity settings.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the vascular step-down unit.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patients’ conditions regularly to detect any changes or complications.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document patient responses meticulously.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about recovery processes, medication management, and lifestyle adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to hospital protocols and standards of care.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in a step-down or critical care environment, with a focus on vascular care.
- Strong assessment and clinical skills, with the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and support patients.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
