Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room (OR) plays a vital role in facilitating surgical procedures by preparing the operating environment, ensuring instruments and equipment are sterilized, and supporting the surgical team. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of patient care and safety during operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgical teams by preparing operating rooms, including the setup of sterile instruments and equipment.
- Maintain a sterile field to ensure optimal patient safety during surgical procedures.
- Handle and sterilize surgical instruments prior to and following use.
- Support the surgical team by providing necessary tools and assistance during procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene protocols throughout the surgical process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Surgical Technologist in an operating room setting.
- Strong understanding of sterile techniques and infection control standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a surgical team and follow detailed instructions.
- Excellent decision-making skills to assess and respond to medical conditions effectively.
- Relevant certifications in surgical technology are preferred.
