Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) in Labor & Delivery / OB plays a vital role in supporting surgical teams during various procedures within the operating room setting. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities, including preparation for surgeries, maintaining sterile environments, and assisting healthcare professionals throughout the surgical processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available.
- Perform sterilization, scrubbing, and high-level disinfection (HLD) to maintain a safe and sterile operating environment.
- Support laparoscopic ectopic procedures and cystoscopy as required.
- Work closely with surgical teams to facilitate efficient workflow during operations.
- Maintain appropriate inventory of surgical supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
- Experience in an OR environment, particularly in Labor & Delivery or OB preferred.
- Strong understanding of surgical instruments and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and demonstrate excellent teamwork skills.
