Job Summary
The laboratory technician is responsible for executing a range of laboratory tasks and performing phlebotomy procedures on patients spanning all age groups, while operating under the oversight of a medical technologist. This role also includes data entry duties and managing the processing and packaging of specimens for transportation.
Responsibilities
- Carry out various laboratory procedures and phlebotomy tasks.
- Ensure accurate computer data entry.
- Process and package specimens appropriately for transport.
Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited high school or possess an equivalent qualification.
- Holding a valid Texas driver’s license is required.
- Preferred candidates should have at least one year of hands-on experience in phlebotomy.
- Must adhere to all HHSC mandates for immunization, drug testing, and relevant training programs.
