Job Summary
The Transplant Med-Surg/Tele/SDU role is integral to delivering exceptional care for patients who are undergoing transplantation procedures. This position requires a deep understanding of postoperative care and the ability to monitor patients both on the medical-surgical floor and in telemetry settings. The ideal candidate will be equipped to manage complex patient needs, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the recovery process.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to transplant patients in various units including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Special Care Units.
- Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in condition, documenting observations accurately.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create tailored care plans for each patient.
- Educate patients and families about discharge procedures and ongoing care requirements post-transplant.
Qualifications
- Current nursing license valid in the state of practice.
- Experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry unit, preferably with transplant patients.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills are essential for effective patient management.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
