Job Summary
The Transplant Med-Surg/Tele/SDU position is designed for a healthcare professional responsible for delivering exceptional patient care in a specialized surgical unit. This role emphasizes the management and rehabilitation of patients who undergo organ transplants, combining surgical, telemetry, and step-down unit skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Transplant Med-Surg and telemetry units.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and response to treatments, making adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize care plans for transplant patients.
- Educate patients and their families about post-transplant care and management.
- Assist with procedures and coordinate pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Document patient assessments, plans, actions, and outcomes accurately.
Qualifications
- Current registered nursing license in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience in inpatient care, particularly in surgical or telemetry settings.
- Strong understanding of transplant procedures and associated medical care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team, focusing on patient-centered care.
