Job Summary
The Cardiology Stepdown Nurse plays a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients recovering from cardiac procedures. This position demands a skilled nursing professional who can efficiently monitor and manage patients requiring step-down care from the intensive care unit.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and cardiac status closely to identify any complications promptly.
- Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on cardiac conditions, medication regimens, and lifestyle modifications.
- Assist in the preparation and recovery of patients undergoing cardiac procedures.
- Document patient care accurately and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in a cardiology or critical care environment is preferred.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare setting.
