Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring patients receive timely access to behavioral health services. This position involves managing the intake process, coordinating schedules, and providing essential support to individuals seeking mental health care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments to determine the needs of patients seeking behavioral health services.
- Coordinate scheduling for evaluations and appointments with healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and treatment teams to facilitate effective communication.
- Assist patients in navigating available resources and support systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Experience in behavioral health or a related healthcare environment is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
