Job Summary
The Commercial Litigation Paralegal plays a vital role in supporting legal professionals in managing and progressing litigation cases. This position demands proficiency in various legal procedures and attention to detail in preparing documentation and managing case files.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and post-trial activities.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Organize and maintain case files and documentation for easy retrieval and reference.
- Conduct legal research to gather information and precedents relevant to ongoing cases.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather necessary information and documentation.
- Manage trial exhibits and documentation for court proceedings.
- Prepare summaries of depositions, affidavits, and other legal documents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in paralegal studies or a related field.
- Certification from a recognized paralegal association is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial litigation is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and document management.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
