Job Summary
The Crisis Intervention/Prevention Specialist plays a pivotal role in providing immediate assistance and support to individuals experiencing crises. This position entails assessing situations, offering therapeutic interventions, and collaborating with community resources to ensure effective resolution and stabilization of crises. The specialist is responsible for promoting safety and well-being while fostering resilience within individuals and communities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of individuals in crisis to determine their immediate needs and risks.
- Provide timely crisis intervention and emotional support to individuals and families.
- Develop and implement safety plans tailored to the specific needs of clients.
- Collaborate with local agencies and resources to facilitate continuous care and support.
- Document interventions and maintain detailed records of client interactions and progress.
- Educate clients and their families about available resources and coping strategies.
- Participate in training and continued professional development to enhance crisis intervention skills.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Experience working in crisis intervention or mental health support settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of crisis management techniques and community resources.
- Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams and engage effectively with various stakeholders.
- Certification in crisis intervention or related fields is preferred.
