Customer Service Representative
Location: Independence, OH
Salary: $65,000 – $80,000
As a Customer Service Representative, your role is to manage customer orders and serve as the main communication link between clients and various operational teams including scheduling, quality assurance, production, shipping, and field sales. Your responsibilities will encompass order entry, as well as engaging with customers and sales representatives via phone and email, which includes handling international orders effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process customer orders through phone, fax, and email; deliver pricing and delivery details to customers, including those based internationally.
- Manage customer sample order requests, along with requests for MSDS and technical data sheets; verify stock levels, confirm shipping dates, and troubleshoot issues when necessary.
- Oversee E-commerce tasks such as EDI, web-based transaction processing, and other inquiries.
- Perform month-end reconciliations of consignment accounts.
- Update and maintain the accuracy of customer master records.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry into systems, contributing to improved business performance and participating in Sales and Operations Planning activities.
- Adhere to Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security policies and maintain awareness of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system requirements relevant to the role.
Qualifications:
- Preferably has experience with SAP.
- Familiarity with EDI and a working understanding of e-commerce and internet tools.
- Bilingual capabilities (Spanish/English) are preferred.
- Some college education is preferred, with an associate’s degree being highly desirable.
- A minimum of 1-3 years in chemical customer service, or at least 3 years in a general customer service capacity.
- Experience with international order processing is a plus.
- Proficient in computer skills, especially in MS Office applications.
- Exemplary communication skills over the phone with a service-oriented approach.
- Able to prioritize tasks and make decisions effectively while meeting deadlines.
- Capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate as part of a team effectively.
