Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional Residential Floater plays a pivotal role in providing essential support to individuals with disabilities in a residential setting. This position is geared toward enhancing the quality of life for clients by fostering independence and assisting with daily living tasks. The Floater is responsible for ensuring a safe and stimulating environment, adapting to various locations and needs as required.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and eating.
- Provide supervision and support in daily activities and community integration.
- Facilitate recreational and educational activities that promote skill development.
- Document residents’ progress and report any significant changes to the management.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times.
- Adapt to different residential settings as needed, providing consistent support across various locations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in a related field is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a similar caregiving role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Must pass background checks and meet the organization’s health requirements.
