Job Summary
The Director of Toxicology is responsible for overseeing the toxicology department, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while leading research efforts. This role focuses on developing and implementing toxicological assessments and guiding product safety evaluations to advance the company’s objectives in drug development.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the toxicology team, providing direction and strategy for research initiatives.
- Oversee the design and execution of toxicology studies, ensuring they align with industry standards.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in all toxicological assessments and submissions.
- Collaborate with other departments, including pharmacology and regulatory affairs, to support product development.
- Interpret study results and provide recommendations for safety assessments and risk management.
- Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting toxicology practices.
- Engage in external collaborations and represent the company at industry conferences.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a relevant scientific field.
- Significant experience (usually 10+ years) in toxicology or related research roles, with proven leadership capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of toxicology regulations and guidelines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
