$40-50/HR Engineering Technician Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Automation Hardware professional to support the design, assembly, and deployment of integrated robotic systems for high-throughput lab automation. You will work cross-functionally with biologists, software developers, and engineers in a fast-paced, agile environment where priorities evolve with new projects and customer needs.
Engineering Technician Responsibilities

  • Assemble, integrate, and support automated lab systems (mechanical, electrical, and software components)
  • Support prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure system performance and reliability
  • Work with vendors to understand equipment capabilities and integration requirements
  • Maintain documentation, including designs, test procedures, and user manuals
  • Provide maintenance and process improvement support for deployed automation systems
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to align automation solutions with project goals

Engineering Technician Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Automation, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in automation or a technical engineering role
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and wiring
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment

Engineering Technician Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with lab automation equipment (e.g., Agilent, Hamilton, Beckman/Labcyte)
  • Basic CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Fabrication or systems integration experience
  • Exposure to manufacturing or process improvement methodologies
