The Patient Registration Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth patient intake processes within the hospital environment. This position involves accurately registering patients into the healthcare system, validating insurance details, and securing requisite consent forms for treatment.
Responsibilities
- Register patients into the hospital system efficiently.
- Verify insurance information to ensure coverage is in place.
- Obtain and manage necessary consent forms from patients.
- Handle financial collections and inquiries related to patient accounts.
- Collaborate with case management staff for seamless patient transitions.
- Provide support at the switchboard as required to facilitate communication.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory for this role.
- Prior experience in a hospital admitting department or a similar medical clerical environment is highly preferred.
