The physician will carry out medical audits on hospice documentation to verify clinical suitability and assist with governmental record inquiries. Additionally, they will compile chart summaries, offer expert testimony during hearings, and visit provider sites for training sessions. Applicants must hold a valid medical or osteopathic license and be board eligible or certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine. A solid understanding of palliative medicine principles and experience in reviewing clinical documentation is essential.
