Job description
Job Summary
The ICU Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing specialized nursing care to patients with severe or life-threatening conditions in the intensive care unit. This position requires nurses to monitor patients closely, respond to emergencies, and implement complex treatment plans while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Monitor vital signs and administer medications as required.
- Assist in managing ventilators and other life-support equipment.
- Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families about continuous care plans and recovery.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Respond quickly to emergencies and adjust care as necessary.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in critical care preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
