Job description

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and components. This role demands a creative approach to improve and optimize both products and processes, utilizing the engineer’s extensive background in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software and sound engineering principles.
  • Perform engineering analyses, simulations, and tests to validate designs, ensuring optimal performance and reducing risks.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate project designs, manufacturing processes, and quality control.
  • Ensure that designs adhere to requirements and specifications.
  • Assess and choose materials, components, and suppliers based on factors like performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Engage in design reviews and brainstorming sessions to identify and solve design issues and explore optimization opportunities.
  • Assist with prototyping, testing, and validation activities, which includes designing and fabricating test fixtures and prototypes.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of design specifications, engineering drawings, test plans, and reports, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering and product design.
  • Proven experience with mechanical systems and components.
  • Skilled in CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts such as statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
  • Familiarity with product development stages including design, prototyping, testing, and validation.
  • Effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.

Additional Skills

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management software and tools.
  • Understanding of design for manufacturing and assembly principles.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards relevant to mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in mechatronics, robotics, or electromechanical systems.
