Job Summary
The Medical Assistant for Behavioral Health plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals by facilitating the delivery of efficient and effective patient care. This position involves direct interaction with patients in a behavioral health setting, ensuring they receive the best possible care and assistance.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for their appointments by collecting medical history and vital signs.
- Provide patient education on behavioral health topics and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant organization is desirable.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
