Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position in Adolescent Medicine at the school-based health center is a per diem role located in New York, NY. This position involves providing healthcare services to adolescents, collaborating with various healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care, and maintaining a focus on health promotion and disease prevention.
Responsibilities
- Practice as a Registered Professional Nurse or Physician Assistant within a school health setting.
- Write orders for medications, laboratory tests, and diagnostics.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, and nursing staff to discuss patient care plans.
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with educational professionals to support the health and well-being of students.
- Adhere to established protocols and guidelines for adolescent health care.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
- Completion of a qualifying program recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
- Experience in adolescent medicine or school-based health care is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
