Pay Rate: $39/hr
The role of the **Program Manager 1** includes overseeing New Product Development (NPD) as well as ongoing programs for aerospace electrical interconnect products. This position requires the management of cross-functional teams to ensure punctual, budget-compliant project delivery that meets customer and contract specifications. Acting as the main point of contact for customers, the Program Manager 1 will handle program performance, financial oversight, risk management, contract administration, and communications with stakeholders while ensuring effective execution throughout the product lifecycle. Additionally, this role involves providing executive-level updates on program status and spearheading continuous improvement efforts to fulfill operational and business goals.
Program Manager 1 Responsibilities:
- Lead the management of New Product Development (NPD) and sustaining engineering projects from initiation to production, ensuring successful outcomes in alignment with scope, timeline, and budget.
- Oversee cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to drive customer satisfaction, continuous enhancements, and robust program financial results.
- Act as the primary liaison for customers, facilitating clear communication, managing expectations, and ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
- Manage customer programs, contracts, and business relationships, focusing on responsiveness to client needs.
- Conduct program management reviews and generate performance metrics and status reports to monitor overall program health.
- Track and manage essential program indicators, including financial outcomes, quality metrics, delivery timelines, technical execution, and adherence to schedule throughout all phases of PROLaunch.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks to the program while coordinating teams to meet project goals and customer specifications.
- Administer customer contracts, pricing approaches, terms and conditions, and contract flow-down processes within the organization.
- Devise and implement strategies for contract negotiations and supervise engineering change management activities.
- Provide consistent updates on program status to both customers and senior leadership, detailing milestones, technical challenges, budget, scheduling, and overall health of the program utilizing a Green/Yellow/Red status system.
- Promote collaboration among engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, and business teams to ensure successful program execution and on-time delivery.
Program Manager 1 Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2-4 years of program or project management experience in new product development
- Prior experience in the aerospace sector
- Proficiency in communicating with high-level executives
