Job Summary
The Psych RN will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychiatric nursing care to patients experiencing mental health issues. This position requires a compassionate and knowledgeable registered nurse capable of assessing, planning, and implementing care tailored to the individual needs of patients. The Psych RN will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient well-being and progress towards recovery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their psychiatric needs and issues.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses to ensure safety and effectiveness.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Document patient care activities accurately and maintain confidentiality in line with applicable regulations.
- Participate in therapeutic activities and group sessions to promote patient engagement and healing.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals for integrated care delivery.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in psychiatric nursing or mental health settings.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage challenging situations.
- Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in mental health may be advantageous.
