Job Summary
The Radiology Scheduler in Shakopee, MN, plays a crucial role in managing imaging appointments, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and mammograms. This on-site position requires adherence to a Monday through Friday schedule, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, for an initial duration of 8 weeks, with possible extension. The pay rate ranges from $25 to $26 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Arrange diagnostic imaging appointments for various modalities, such as CT, MRI, X-ray, Echo, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, and PET/CT.
- Ensure accurate coordination of patient appointments utilizing Epic/Excellian and relevant scheduling procedures.
- Review pertinent scheduling information and orders to facilitate proper appointment placement.
- Engage in communication with patients and internal clinical staff regarding their scheduling preferences.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when coordinating and reviewing imaging appointments.
- Assist with scheduling workflows that involve prior authorizations when necessary.
- Handle a substantial volume of scheduling tasks while ensuring precision and timely execution.
- Provide support for additional scheduling activities as directed by the Diagnostic Services team.
Qualifications
- Possession of a High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in radiology or imaging scheduling.
- Familiarity with scheduling diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Capability to thrive in a busy scheduling environment.
- Experience with Epic/Excellian Radiant is highly sought after.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology is preferred.
- Experience with prior authorizations is a plus.
