Job Summary
The Residential Support Specialist is responsible for providing essential support and assistance to individuals in a residential setting. This role involves fostering a safe and positive environment where residents can thrive and achieve personal goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and guidance to residents in daily living activities.
- Assist individuals in developing life skills and enhancing independence.
- Monitor and document the progress and needs of residents.
- Promote a positive and inclusive community atmosphere.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans.
- Facilitate recreational and social activities for residents.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in social services or a related field is advantageous.
- Experience in a similar role or in human services is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of and commitment to the principles of person-centered care.
