Job description
Job Summary
The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement process to ensure the acquisition of quality materials and products at competitive prices. This role involves strategic sourcing and negotiation with vendors to optimize supply chain efficiency and achieve cost-savings while maintaining high standards of quality.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to secure advantageous pricing and delivery conditions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand purchasing needs and specifications.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast purchasing requirements to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Analyze purchasing trends and supplier performance to make informed buying decisions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to enhance partnerships and improve service levels.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures in purchasing activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a senior role.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
